| Leaving Thailand we cross the Mekong River border to Laos at Chiang Khong/Huay Xai border crossing. We enjoyed one night at Huay Xai (Bokeo Provincial capital) before boarding a slow boat to Luang Prabang with a one night stopover at Pak Beng. After Luang Prabang, we take a short flight to the Laotian capital, Vientiane. Just 2 days in Vientiane, on the Mekong River near the Thailand border. From Vientiane we travelled east over the Phou Hin Boun hills/forest with a one night village "homestay" before arriving at the North Vietnam border crossing. |
