| This morning (and probably last night) we travelled from Ushuaia down past Cape Horn and through Drake Passage, the passage of ocean between Cape Horn and the Antarctic. These waters are particularly hazardous, owing to strong winds, large waves, strong currents and icebergs. These dangers have made it notorious as a sailors' graveyard. On the day of our arrival at the Antarctic, it didn't look too promising with very bleak weather. Next day though and from then on, the weather was great giving us some fantastic viewing opportunities. |
