| More repairs as we left Airlie Beach - the boat trailer mudguard supports were developing stress fractures that we needed to get welded - hardly surprising when the trailer has carried our boat for about 20,000km, on some pretty ordinary roads at times. After Airlie Beach, we travelled north to Bowen where we spent a few days. The Whitsunday waterways (Pacific Ocean) were most picturesque and right on the doorstep of the interesting town. Bowen is building a reputation as a "murals town" and also is very proud to have hosted filming of Baz Luhrman's "Australia". |
