Katherine at the junction of the Stuart and Victoria Highways

While most visitors arrive here to see Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), the town itself is quite large, with a big Aboriginal population. The town serves an area that stretches from the Gulf of Carpentaria to the Western Australia border.
