Istanbul is a huge and amazing city of some 20 million people and they all seemed to be on our train most days. Traffic is chaotic so we kept our driving to our entry on day 1 to our exit on day 4. Our copy of Lonely Planet says that "you could spend
several weeks here and still only scratch the surface" quite easy to believe. The major mosques are stunning and most of the time you can hear Koran chants over the loudspeakers. In the Topkapi palace Pavilion of the Sacred Mantle (where Prophets Mohammed's relics are housed), the Imam chants Koran verses continuously.
