(2018) South America and Antarctica
In January 2018, we set off for our big trip to South America [Map]; We think of Australia as a very big country, and it is but South America is more than twice our size. Our trip has a number of separate "escorted tours" [with Chimu Adventures], plus a 21 day cruise [Itinerary] with Holland America [Zaandam]. After a very long journey from Brisbane [via Auckland, Santiago, Lima, then Quito] our first experience will be a fairly relaxing 5 days cruising around the Galapagos Islands [Ecuador]. Then -
Peru - Lima, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Lake Titicaca and the floating reed islands, Q'eswachaka reed rope bridge.
Chile - Santiago, Valparaiso, San Antonio [cruise port]
Holland America Cruise - 21 day cruise [Chile, Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, Argentina, Antarctica, Falkland Islands, Uruguay, Argentina]
Uruguay - Montevideo
Argentina - Puerto Madryn, Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls [Iguassu] etc
Brazil - Iguazu Falls to Rio de Janeiro
