Europe 2008 England Sth, then Mediterranean Cruise May to July 2018 to the Baltic countries Near to the end end of May 2018, we will join sister [Ann] and Noel for a trip to Baltic countries. Our trip starts with our flight from Brisbane to Copenhagen [Denmark] where we will meet up with Ann and Noel after their trip to Morocco, Portugal, Spain and other Mediterranean countries. We'll spend the first week with a hire car in Denmark, followed by a cruise of 11 nights, Scandinavia and Russia [from Copenhagen]. We return to Copenhagen where we will again collect our hire car to spend 3 weeks travelling in Sweden and [mostly] Norway before returning to Copenhagen for the long flight home
2010-2012, UK and European Pub Crawl Note - All of the picture details from the 20 or so countries visited have now been archived to guarantee the performance of our new web hosting service
These pages are about Joy and Dave's exciting trip starting in the UK in February 2011 and then on to Europe. We'll be away almost 2 years. We plan to see some 40 countries; some will be reasonably long stays so some will be very brief visits. We're calling it our Pub Crawl but we will try to get to cafes, restaurants etc. Really our holiday is about seeing as many of those "must see" sights that we've read and heard about. I love English pubs, I like some Castles, Museums, but not art galleries so much; Joy likes some similar things but especially animal parks and zoos. We want to see some of those exotic sounding places that we have all seen in the movies; Casablanca, Marrakech, Amsterdam, Munich, Athens, Madrid, and of course "Paree" just to name a few. Naturally I will want to see many of the Telephony Museums in the UK and Europe. We will try to see some of the confronting
sights from World conflicts such as Anzac Cove Gallipoli, Fromelle, Auschwitz,
Belsen and many
others. We hope to be able to have a pretty laid back holiday, hence the use of a motor home, to ;
We are sure that negotiating narrow roads and finding a park may be times when a motor home will be a frustration; But for us, we're confident the Pro's will far outweigh the Con's.
Our web will be our place for planning our holiday and when we start our trip, a place to store our experiences for family and close friends to track our progress. On the Timetable and Photo Album pages, details will be updated as we tour the individual countries. By clicking on the "Recent Updates" tab, readers can see details of changes to the web, with the top-most entry being the most recent. The Motor home page has some of the Government agencies and support contacts that we used when we were planning our trip. Our plans are flexible enough to make the best of weather conditions from North to South. A good guide to long range forecasts can be found at http://www.longrangeweather.com/weather-forecasts/European-City.aspx We spent more time than we estimated and allowed for, back home in May to August 2011. That means we will miss the Scaninavian countries preferring to use our available time with a return to the UK to see Ireland and Scotland. The red lines on this map now show what should be our approximate travel route from March 2012.
